Day 3, March

Cling To God

My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me. Psalm 63:8

The Word of God has much to say about morning. David started his day praying and listening to God. He instructed the priests to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and like wise at evening. He said " The Lord has given peace and rest to His people"

1 Chronicles 23:25-30 David said "The Lord God of Israel has given peace to his people, and he himself will live in Jerusalem for ever. So there is no longer any needfor the Levites to carry the Tent of the Lord's presence and all the equipment used in worship." On the basis of David's final instructions all Levites were registered for service when they reached the age of twenty, and were assigned the following duties : to help the priests descended from Aaron with the temple worship, to take care of its courtyards and its rooms, and to keep undefiled everything that is sacred; to be responsible for the bread offered to God, the flour mixed with olive oil; to weigh and measure the temple offerings; and to praise and glorify the Lord every morning and every evening.

Many times we pray and pray, but, like Lot, we don't listen. For example, angels prompted Lot early in the morning to flee from Sodom and avoid its coming destruction
Genesis 19:15 At dawn the angels tried to make Lot hurry. "Quick!" they said. " Take your wife and your two daughters and get out, so that you will not lose your lives when the city is destroyed."
We can avoid disasters when we wait on God's instructions before acting.

A great beginning leads to a great finish. Begin your day with thanksgiving and praise, and in the evening before you rest, thank the Lord again for a great day.

**Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path**
