Tattoo anyone?
Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.
-Leviticus 19:28-
**Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path**
haha well, if your talking about the tattoo context, its hard to say because times have changed especially after Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and risen just like how we can eat pork and other animals which are not supposedly eaten now. However, something came to my mind while reading this because every command that God gave was for the good of his people, be it in cleanliness or health wise and not merely decrees to be followed strictly.
We should follow his commands but all in all, He gives us a choice.
This is just something i picked from the Bible which is interesting to note. No fingers pointed:)
nope it did not say so. That is just what i thought in another view. The Mosaic law was given for people to obey it and be a holy nation but it might be for health reasons also although it was not stated such as do not leave food overnight and so on and so forth.
If you're interested, there's this book you might want to pick up, and since you're in Aussie, it might be easier to get your hands on - God's Big Picture. That, or if you want something heavier, get Graeme Goldsworthy's Gospel and Kingdom. These 2 books should provide an interesting insight =)
Can the message of Moses to the Israelites be directly extrapolated to us?
