Fostering Christian Fellowship 2

*are u a disciple of Jesus Christ?
*Christ mandate for the church:Go and make disciples
*Christ will for individual believers-become disciples
it is not enough to just merely serve in church, attend church and pay your tithes
*a disciple of Christ commits to an obedient relationship with Jesus Christ and become like him
*Jesus never once withdrew his love from us although we were disobedient
*John 15:16- you did not choose me but i chose u to bear fruit that would last
*lessons from jesus example
*disciples were called by jesus
*disciples were called to jesus
*both types of disciples have different approach

*John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

*a choice we have to make
*our relationship with Jesus continues
*we should therefore commune him with prayer and develop that personal relationship with him in devotion
*we have the privilege of directly communicating with God but we often neglect that privilege
*1.daily devotion:reading His word and communing with Him
*2. attached to members of the body of Christ
*small groups in church is
-for making disciples
-for spiritual growth
-for growing into Christ-likeness
*John 15:12: 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

*small groups-a place to manifest love
*willing to open and be channels of grace and love to one another
*where is the church when we are hurt?
*small group is also a place
-to be nurtured
-to expand our horizons
-to be relevant
-to discover the call to serve
-to discover our spiritual gifts
*down the ages, small groups have been used to equip disciples
eg:12disciples
