What does it mean to be your brother's or sister's keeper

*Leviticus 19:17-18: 17 “‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt.
18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

*Be frank
*Do not talk behind people's backs
*To care and love as you have loved yourself
*To be trustworthy but know when its better to tell someone
*Care, protect and value people

*Jeremiah 17:10: 10 “I the LORD search the heart
   and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”

*Psalm 32:1-2:

Of David. A maskil.
 1 Blessed is the one
   whose transgressions are forgiven,
   whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the one
whose sin the LORD does not count against them
and in whose spirit is no deceit.

*Ask for forgiveness for what sin we have done

*Proverbs 28:13-14:  13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
14 Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.

*Hebrews 12:1: 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

*Sin can get us side track so we should be ready to throw off everything that causes us to sin

*Proverbs 4:23: 23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.

*We must guard our heart (Thoughts and emotions)
*The "well spring of life" - the promise that God brings

All in all
*We have to guard our heart
*Know our intentions
*Know what influences and affects us

*Hebrews 12:5-11: 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a]
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

So what kind of spiritual heritage do we, our family or non christian friends want to develop to convict and live it out?
